  • 9/10 Anonymous ( Mature couple)

Reasonably powerful shower, iron and ironing board, comfortable bed, smoking room.

The only problem was the cost of breakfast - very expensive for a chain hotel. It should be included in the rate at the weekend.

  • 9/10 Jane ( Mature couple)

from Diss , GB  on  November 1, 2007

"Great stay again. The secure parking on site is a bonus although this time we travelled by train. On the day we left we wanted to be able to leave luggage at the hotel and travel later that day. There was no problem leaving our case with the concierge, labelled and safely stored. Breakfast was good and served in the very pleasant restuarant with great views. We only snacked in the bar in the evening which was good, although a touch pricey! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, from the housekeepers to the duty manager." (97649915)

Very comfortable well appointed room, a touch of luxury at an affordable price. Surprisingly quiet on a busy road.

    Large room, clean.

Noise, 1st floor room overlooking the street, no WiFi access to the Internet!

  • 9/10 Anonymous ( Solo business traveller)

"You have to check-in before you can use the underground car park - this can be tricky when there is heavy (normal) traffic on Shoreditch High Street. Better to advise guests to arrange parking IN ADVANCE, so that they can drive straight in. Otherwise would recommend for business use." (97183930)

Design, decor and furbishings. Reception provided me with quiet room at the rear of the hotel.

Getting to the hotel by car is not easy (need to approach from the North).

  • 9/10 Chris ( Young couple)

from Derby , GB  on  July 22, 2007

Excellent location, just a 10 minute walk to Liverpool Street Station. Plenty of staff for checking in/out. Excellent room, everywhere was clean.

"Excellent meals and general faclities. No access to underground which i was not aware of when booking and had to use taxis on both days." (97124761)

Good and bright and new facilities

TV table and dresser where obviously not new and not in keeping with rest of furniture. Flat screen with freeview.

"Shorditch may not be the best area of London but the local pubs and resteraunts are clean, cheap, and offer a quality service the hotel is only minutes walk from the Tower, Tower Bridge and other sights of London. Itis a good hotel with warm friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast with probably the widest range of choices I have seen in any hotel." (97500657)

The hotel is clean functional and pleasant

the bar is poorly stocked with beers, but at these prices there are cheaper options locally anyway.

  • 6/10 A ( Group of work colleagues)

"alround this hotel is pretty good, however a lot of new staff and the barman didnt know the difference between a single or double measure at the bar, i got singles and was charged for doubles and he didnt seem to understand my complaint, that aside everything was ok and id use this hotel again" (97787632)

    neat and tidy rooms

room a little on the small side

"We booked this hotel for ourselves, my husband and I. A few days later we also booked for my daughter and her husband to also stay at the hotel as we were all attending my grandsons's christening. Unfortunately, my daughter and her husband were charged a higher rate that us and this we could not understand as the rooms were identical therefore we would have thought the rate would have been the same. But nevertheless our stay was most enjoyable." (99282274)

It was clean, tastefully furnished and had facilities needed.

  • 8/10 Kathryn ( Other)

from Norwich , GB  on  July 4, 2007

The room was spacious, very modern and had everything needed for the stay. the bathroom was very big and they provided enough towells.

the window of the room couldnt open plus there was a chair and puff combo with very sharpe stick out feet which was very painful to bang into and did cause an injury.

"This is a lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Had room service and the food was divine, would definately stay again. Very easy to get to from tube station. Either a short taxi journey, or if you fancy a leisurely stroll of about 10 mins. Didn't try catching a bus, but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel that also goes to the tube station." (99898699)

Friendly staff, Lovely size room, Food, Mini Bar, Room Service, Pay for Movies. Everything really.

"There was easy access to Liverpool Street station. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. RECEPTION STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL ON ARRIVAL. i WOULD HAVE LIKED DIRECTIONS TO THE hOTEL AS THEY WERE NOT ON THE INFORMATION RECEIVED, SO A MAP WOULD HAVE BEEN USEFUL. IT DOES SEEM PRICEY AS THE PRICE DID NOT INCLUDE BREAKFAST." (99133366)

    I liked the contempory style.

The cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel in general. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

  • 7/10 Anonymous ( Young couple)

I was happy to find that picture advertisements and descriptions of the hotel's room on their website were a true reflection of the room we stayed in, in all regards (size, facilities and appearance).

The desk clerk who handled both my check-in and check-out was the only thing which tainted an otherwise very pleasant and enjoyable stay at the hotel. Her attitude towards customer services, while being of an acceptable level, was definately not on a par as to all other hotel staff which I encountered.

The room was large, comfortable, good deskspace

Overlooking the street, traffic noise v early morning was a shame. The light over the mirror in the bathroom was not good for shaving.

"Nothing grim, I found the reduced rate easy to find on the web sight, even for a 'Non computer' person like me. All in all it was very good, and you have a very helpful Hall Porter. The overall'feeling' when I arrived at the Hotel was proffessional and pleasant. Thank you." (99567711)

I found it very clean and modern and the rooms to be a decent size. Well lit and a lovely modern bathroom.

Nothing, it was all good. Only thing, I found the temperature gauge, or thermostat, not very responsive, it was a warm night and I could not turn it down.

The comfort of the rooms make it feel as though you are in a palace, with everything you need with a touch of a button. Parking is very secure but a little pricy, but you don't mind with everything else so well taken care of." (99777354)

"I would definately stay again, however, I would ask for a room on the back of the hotel as room 131 was noisy, due to bus stop being under the room, and also a night club. It was a shame really, because everything else was great, from the cost of the room , to the parking of the car, and the general welcoming feal of the hotel. The lady that checked me in and out was very pleasant and even phoned me to ask if i had left an A_~Z of London on the counter. I normally stay in Fitzrovia, however, this time my husband and I wanted to explore the East End!! The location was perfect, and within easy walking distance of Brick Lane, Petticoat Lane Market and Bishopsgate. Really Brilliant, Thank you." (99694457)

Spacious and modern with clean and crisp bed linen, towels, etc.

Friday night was noisy, i think the noise was from a night club. The buses that stop outside were noisy also.

"Very good value for money. Room very tastefully decorated. Very comfortable bed and lovely contemporary bathroom. I would highly recommend this hotel. We were just stopping over before catching a train from Liverpool St, but I would definitely stay here again if I was up in London for the weekend. The only drawback was that it was pretty noisy on Friday evening with ambulance/police sirens most of the night. I would also recommend that if there is no male in your group that you get a taxi back to the hotel. It is only a 10 minute walk from the station but my teenage daughter and I did not feel particularly comfortable walking back at 10pm." (99430105)

Very comfortable good sized room. Stylish bathroom with toiletries. Lovely contemporary style. Well stocked with tea/coffee and mini bar.

Nothing, except the room was on the main road and there were lots of sirens all night.

I found this hotel to be very clean, bright and comfortabley decorated and felt that there had been an effort made to ensure attention to detail, which is nice to see. I felt very relaxed where at some hotels you can feel quite anxious. Overall I was very impressed.

We had a bit of a roon swap at the beginning as we had requested smoking and were given non smoking, but this was very quickly sorted and the rest of the stay was fine.

Very pleasant and well laid out, clean and hi-tech, luxury bathroom and again clean

No Room Service after 10.45pm. The Globe restaurant has great views but lacked atmosphere and the food was completely tasteless (all three courses - must be a record).
