    Fairly cheap in LYON (due to a lower standard)

    Staff were friendly and helpful, hotel was clean, room was small but inexpensive and had everything you'd need for a weekend stay.

    I found the amount of food served at breakfast to be inadequate!

    Great breakfast, friendly helpful staff, right at a tram-line for travel

    Beds & pillows pretty uncomfortable, decor in rooms needs freshened up.

    Location and price

    Unmanned front desk. No staff on duty during check-in or check-out. One hotel employee runs both office and separate bar. No elevator - we had to climb 4 flights of stairs to our 4th floor room.

    "The area isn't the nicest and walking late at night did feel intimidating. The hotel does provide off street parking (7 Euros / 12hrs) which comes highly recommended; my car's soft-top roof was knifed during the night because I left it on the street so if you want your car in one piece use the garage."     The hotel provides good value for money, and an excellent breakfast.

    The rooms are small but clean and well maintained. The lack of air conditioning during the summer months requires the window open and the street is pretty noisey at night.

    "All the little negative points were more than compensated by the attitude of the staff who were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The one big reproach however was the fact that the hotewl was said to be situated in Perrache, it was far from there over the Rhone and had we known that we`d certainly have booked somewhere else,nearer to where we wanted to be.There are hundreds of hotels in Lyon but just a very very small percentage of them were on the site which restricted our choice but booking from abroad on line is by far the easiest. Having said this I would recomand the tourism de Lyon site as it would have given us more choices." (3304475659)

    There were no in room facilities for coffee/telephone and no room services.The shower was leaking every where but on you!There could have been a box of tissues in the bathroom but for the price it was pretty good.

    Clean, cheap, situated in the very centre of Lyon, in front of a tramway stop and very close to an underground station.

    It's quite old and the rooms are small. Better for a stopover then for a proper holiday I guess.

    Accomodation is rather cheap and decent, close to the center, good breakfast.

    There is no conditioning in rooms.

    Good location - handy for trams and metro. Close enough to all the tourist sites but not too close for any noise or disturbance

    Bathroom was functional but would have preferred a shower over the bath also. Air conditioning would have been very usefull.

    "The hotel offers comfortable rooms, the breakfast was good and the room where it was served was nicely decorated. The price to comfort ratio was also very good. The parking places around are all payant so unless you don't leave early in the morning (9h) and come back after 19h it is better to stay in the garage of the hotel." (2679014)

    Room was comfortable and quiet. Restaurants all along the street. Not far from city center. Staff was very friendly.

    A written form how to get there would have been very helpfull, as the map offers either a too large or too small a picture to follow it, and the one way streets around make it a bit difficult to find it. We didn't find the entrance for the hotel parking (It costs 7€/day).

    "Essentially the hotel did not meet the standards outlined in the internet advert. A bar would have been a positive benefit and the room although relatively clean and tidy would benefit from a modern 'make over', especially the bathroom." (2619711)

    It was sufficient for a base to explore the local area

    The description of the hotel did not match its location as described in the email description, in fact I would not have felt happy being in area of the hotel after dark.

    I particulary liked the friendly attitude of staff, and the wonderful breakfast.

    The cleaning in the rooms can be improved,there is no iron facilities in the hotel.

    "I travelled around France for about 11 days and stayed in 7 different hotels. This was by far the worst one. Actually it was the only one where I had a bad experience. Some of the others were less money and far better. The lift broke down and I had to lug my suitcase down 3 flights of stairs.It was extremely dirty especially in the common areas. The dining room was not bad. It was very noisy since the walls were so thin and I hardly slept." (1518088)

    Lyon est une très belle ville - Très riche dans tous les domaines - Bien étudiées pour les piétons - Ville où apparemment il doit y faire bon de vivre.

    Peut-être un peu difficile de trouver un emplacement gratuit pour stationner son véhicule durant le séjour. Il serait intéressant d'avoir cette information dans les différents hôtels.
