"Location perfectly suited for this particular visit but the little things that were not right made this hotel difficult to consider again or recommend." (107776066)
Lady at front desk very helpful and polite. Location of hotel excellent. Room and it's facilities good Price v. good.
Kitchen/waiting staff lost our order so breakfast took 40mins to arrive. Tea and coffee making facilities on arrival had not been restocked and not all the crockery was clean Shampoo sachets and soap from previous guests still present in bath/shower

Very pleasant small room, well decorated, absolutely clean. Tea,coffee etc. welcome. Delightful and hepful staff
BREAKFAST! Buffet out of milk, juice, by 8am. As a vegetarian requested cheese not interleaved with ham.Told no cheese available.Cold croissant.Guests toasting the bread meant all the slices had been handled by a variety of guests.

"A brilliant location, however, the hotel needs an upgrade. Good bathroom facilities are paramount, paticularly for guests who have travelled long distances." (107874729)
Staff polite and quite helpful. Breakfast staff very good. Hotel location ideal for Norwich.
Bathrooms require updating. Shower curtains are dated, bath panels cracked. Shower poor. Room carpets shabby. Booked a 3am departure call. It did not happen. Long wait in the evening for room key at reception.

"Refreshing for business trip - actually enjoyed rather than endured - will definitely use again on business and/or leisure trips to Norwich" (107915479)
Quiet a unique hotel in set up, very quiet and in lovely grounds given the proximity to city centre. Good parking! Staff very efficient and also extremely friendly and curtious at all times, very professional whilst informal as well.
Only complaint was that breakfast was very poor, given that there were only 5 guest at the time. Food was just above cold and not of the best quality. Service was excellent, again efficient and friendly

"Enjoyable stay only let down by the lack of ventilation and fans during the hot weather. Would be happy to return in cooler conditions though." (97230685)
Friendly Staff and clean hotel with easy access to shops and local attractions.
Poor ventilation of hall leading to room and the en-suite bathroom.

"Overall we felt as though we were staying in a rented apartment and not a hotel. Would not return to the same lodge. Visited the Beeches Hotel and thought the gardens beautiful and facilities much better although other guests (friends) staying there thought the rooms quite old and grotty. " (108059596)
We stayed at the Beeches Lodge. Very spacious, clean room. Near to centre. Friendly and obliging porter.
No phone in room, (no hairdryer/ iron in room) Latter received on request. No bar on premises (quite strange for a 'Hotel'). No bottle opener available in hotel. Outside area very dirty. Back entrance dirty and in need of weeding. Room not ready until 4.30pm.

"It was a good place to stay, good deal over the internet, good location in centre of Norwich but other hotels had more 'atmosphere' as friends staying at local hotel 'The Georgian', which had a late night bar." (108067995)
It was a cheap deal on the internet, very good value for money. Room was perfectly adequate for our needs.
No wireless internet in room. No late night bar service for guests when we arrived back from wedding.

"Excellent" (107118977)
I thought this hotel was outstanding value for money and have already recommended it to family and friends. The setting was beautiful, the location was ideal being so close to the city centre and the buildings and rooms were full of character.
None other than we didn't stay long enough and didn't have time to look around the beautiful gardens

Lovely setting - very close to town centre with good parking
Room was extremely hot as it was facing into the sun all day and there was no fans to cool it down . It was also very noisy as it faced directly onto the main street. Lots of drunken people walking past at early hours of morning.

"Have stayed in this hotel for years and watched it decline from being a pleasant, family-run business to a more impersonal commercial concern which now seems to concentrate on catering for outside functions. Would probably stay here again because of its location." (97839559)
Good position and quiet at rear. Good parking facilities, enabling one to walk into the city. Pleasant rooms. Very good reception staff.
No evening meal and very limited room service. Breakfast service poor - had to keep asking for things. Breakfast accommodation inadequate when large number staying. Room service took a long time. Cafe 91 (owned by hotel) very limited menu and food not particularly good.

"Value for money and would happily stay again." (108027253)
The hotel has good parking arrangements and the room was clean. The hotel provides Wifi.
The walls are a bit to thin as you can hear noises in rooms below and to the side. There is no restaurant in the hotel for evening dinner, although the owner does own restaurants nearby.

"We would definately come again, perhaps a change of room would solve the armchairs and television problems. We would have prefered a breakfast included and a differential charge for "Full English"" (108033677)
We were very pleased with our stay. The staff made us welcome and were helpful and polite. The room was quiet and although a little "Tired and dated", clean and tidy.
Although we did not require dinner or lunch it was hassle to go to the restaurant in the city. When we lived nearby we had visited the restaurant when it was situated in the main Hotel. Our television had a poor picture ( Tennis finals from Wimbledon!!)We would have welcomed two comfortable chairs in our room.

"I was in considerable distress during this stay as my mother was terminally ill in the local hospital. The comfort and seclusion of the room, and the kindness, courtesy and assistance rendered by the hotel staff and their colleagues in the associated restaurant, Adlard's, did much to render this horrendously difficult time more bearable. I am most grateful to them." (108060900)
Despite being on a main road into Norwich this was a quiet hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the assistance offered by staff could not be faulted.
Seemed unfair that Continental and full English breakfast were charged at the same rate; also the kettle would only plug in at a floor-level socket in the room. A socket at the same level as the tea-tray would be safer, especially for those less agile.

"Having spent time in Norwich before, I can easily say that the proximity of this hotel to the city is one of its most promising features. In addition, the staff was great, whether I was checking in at 2 am, asking train schedules, or interrupting the cleaning lady mid-clean, everyone I met was helpful and accommodating." (97406884)
The grounds, including the gardens, were lovely, and the three buildings I saw were well kept and maintained. Access to Norwich city centre was had via an easy stroll, but if unable to walk, there was a bus stop footsteps away.
I felt that paying 7.50 pounds for a continental breakfast was not appropriate. The same price for a hot cooked breakfast was fine, but for a small selection of fruit salad, croissants, pastries and yogurt, 7.50 pounds was too much money.

"Overall our stay was good - we were staying for wedding. Slight niggles such as top up on tea in room not done and had to ask; one of the bar staff was a bit moody and at times we felt an inconvenience. Invoice needed checking and it would be better to supply Invoice before taking the payment as payment had to be reimbursed for extra breakfasts. Paper ordered for Sunday and not delivered to room by the time we vacated at 11.00 a.m. Overall these were slight niggles and wouldn't put us off staying as location very good to Norwich centre." (97496661)
The Beeches was well placed to the main shopping centre and surrounding areas. The gardens were pleasant and overall no complaints
Room was adequate for a stop-over and it was good not to have to vacate the hotel until midday although by staff putting linen outside rooms prior to departure it felt as though we were being rushed - better to be sure keys have been handed in and room vacated would be more appropriate.

"The location of the Beeches Hotel is simply beautiful and the views from our window of the side of the cathedral and the many trees were breathtaking. The hotel itself is elegant yet extremely friendly with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Our accommodation was very well appointed and the furnishings and furniture to an extremely high standard. Although we stayed just one night after a night out in Norwich (we live in North Norfolk) we felt thoroughly indulged and we would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend the hotel. The Victorian Gardens looked lovely although unfortunately we did not have the time to go around them - we will look forward to seeing them on our next visit, which we hope will be quite soon." "I must say that the staff went out of their way to arrange that our two rooms were together on the ground floor which although we hadn't asked for, it was much appreciated as my elderly mother has a bad knee and though she can do stairs it is much easier if she doesn't have to. They were very pleasant and helpful." (97736729)
